Senior Pastor Search – 2026

First Baptist Church of Angleton is prayerfully and expectantly seeking the Senior Pastor God has prepared to lead us into our next season of ministry.


As we enter a new year, we do so with gratitude for God’s faithfulness and confidence in His timing. We are a Christ-centered, loving congregation with a strong commitment to worship, discipleship, and reaching our community for Jesus Christ. God continues to move among us, and we are excited about the future He has set before our church.


During this season of transition, we are thankful for the leadership and care of our interim pastor while we seek the shepherd God is calling to walk with us into this next chapter. We believe the Lord is already preparing the right person to serve alongside our church family.

Dr. Wilson is joined by his wife, Bev Stamper Wilson, as they seek to serve our church during this time of transition.

Dr. Wilson’s ministry has included Senior Pastor for three similar sized churches, Interim Pastor for two other churches, served as a member of two Baptist Association Administrative Teams, an

Incorporate Board member for two mission organizations, as well has having been a public school teacher.

Worship Ministry Update – 2026

As we move into a new year, First Baptist Church of Angleton is intentionally pausing the search for a worship ministry leader until the Lord provides the Senior Pastor who will help guide the next season of our church.

We believe it is wise and prayerful to allow our future Senior Pastor to have a voice in shaping the worship ministry alongside the broader vision of the church. During this season, we remain confident in God’s timing and direction.

We are thankful for Aaron Porter, who has graciously stepped in to assist with worship choir rehearsals and to lead Sunday worship as his schedule allows. His willingness to serve provides continuity and stability as we wait on the Lord’s leading.

We ask our church family to continue praying for God’s guidance, unity, and wisdom for our leadership and congregation as we trust Him to bring the right Senior Pastor at the right time.

Lauryn Mutina serves as the Children’s Ministry Director at First Baptist Church in Angleton. Born and raised in Angleton, Lauryn has always had a heart for this community and a passion for helping children grow in their walk with Jesus. She has been a member of First Baptist Church since 2017, and it has been a blessing for her to be part of this church family and continue serving here. Lauryn is married to her high school sweetheart, Mason, and together they have twin daughters. She is excited to serve alongside the families at FBC Angleton, whether it’s worshiping together or teaching children about the love of Jesus. Lauryn looks forward to all that God has in store for the church as they grow together in faith.

Melanie porter

Youth Minister

Starting out as a youth ministry intern at her home church, Melanie has been in ministry since May of 2019. She has a deep passion for teaching God's word to students and helping them build their faith to last beyond their time in student ministry.


Melanie's time serving in youth has led her to pursue a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University. She looks forward to combining her knowledge from school and ministry together as she continues to serve the body of Christ.


Melanie and her husband, Aaron, have been married since July of 2022. They spend their days at the pickleball court or playing with their dog, Winnie.

Jennifer joined the FBCA staff in June 2023, after dedicating 22 years to being a stay-at-home mom. Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Nathan, their two adult children, Austin and Clarice, and their grandson, Aiden.

Tara Harris

Tara joined the FBCA staff in June 2024. With a warm smile and a servant’s heart, she loves welcoming everyone at the door and helping wherever she's needed. Tara has a deep passion for the Children and Youth Departments and finds joy in supporting their growth and ministry.


Outside the office, Tara stays busy on the family farm, gardening, and proudly cheering on her three kids—Brylie, Wyatt, and Levi—in all their extracurricular activities. She shares life with her loving and hardworking husband, Dolan, and treasures every moment with her family.
